The West African Centre for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens (WACCBIP) is offering a Graduate Internship Programme for new graduates to work in an environment that supports and promotes the development of research leadership.
As a Centre of Excellence for biomedical research, WACCBIP supports a wide range of high-calibre research activities with its international, regional, and national partners. We intend to recruit a cohort of national service personnel some of whom will be dedicated to working as Research Assistants and Administrative/Technical Assistants. You will therefore be required to indicate your desired role for consideration.
Eligibility
To apply for this programme, you must:
- Have completed undergraduate studies by June 2022 and registered for National Service.
- Have majored in any of the Biological Sciences, Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Accounting, Law, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, English, Communications, or Linguistics.
- Be hardworking, highly motivated and interested in promoting scientific research and training.
Responsibilities of successful Graduate Interns will include:
- Assist in teaching activities/practical laboratory sessions at BCMB
- Assist in research activities at WACCBIP
- Contribute to the delivery of training programmes at WACCBIP
- Participate in research conferences and workshops
- Carry out a research project and participate in a research journal
- Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the Head of Department, Director and/or immediate
Due to the extra efforts required for effective research, successful Graduate Interns who excel in their research projects will be eligible for the award of a research stipend based on a positive evaluation of the research outputs.
