1st Day of WACCBIP-Wellcome Trust Developing Excellence in Leadership, Training and Science (DELTAS) Africa Inception meeting
The first day of the WACCBIP-Wellcome Trust Developing Excellence in Leadership, Training and Science (DELTAS) Africa Inception meeting was successful. The WACCBIP center leader, Dr. Gordon Awandare set the meeting in motion with his presentation on the WACCBIP-Wellcome Trust DELTAS Africa proposal. There were excellent presentations from five partner institutions which were delivered by Prof. Ambroise Wonkam representing University of Cape Town, South Africa, Prof. Mahamadou Diakite representing Malaria Research & Training Centre, Mali, Prof. Solomon Ofori-Acquah representing University of Pittsburgh, USA, Dr. Sam Alsford representing London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK and Mr. Dembo Kanteh representing Medical Research Council Unit, The Gambia.
Prof. Kwadwo Koram Director of Noguchi and Co-applicant, shared his experience and lessons learnt from the Noguchi Postdoctoral Programme. An excellent seminar on

was presented by Dr. Ambroise Wonkam which was attended by the graduate students of the center, the center faculty, the center personnel and partner institution representatives.
